Last year The Retro Ball event successfully re-created the atmosphere of an arcade of yesteryear in The Wardens Cricket Club, Kenilworth. Over 200 visitors enjoyed playing on classic arcade machines, pinball tables and retro computers and consoles over a fantastic weekend of gaming in December. Veterans of the games industry came to the event, and as well as signing autographs, took park in a very enjoyable Q/A session. Competitions took place throughout the weekend and a fun time was had by all.

The event was such a success that a follow-up was inevitable! So on the 30th September and 1st October this year we will be holding a sequel at the same venue that we have called “Retro Fusion::A Weekend of Gaming!” that promises to be bigger and better than last year.

This year the event is solely sponsored by XPLOSIV, the publishers of the fantastic Taito Legends and Taito Legends 2. XPLOSIV will be hosting a high score competition on their new PSP Taito Legends compilation with the prizebeing a copy of PSP Taito Legends and a brand new PSP.

The Jamma+ guys will be back bringing with them up to 30 fantastic arcade cabinets all on free-play. UKRetro, Console Passion and Retro Passion will be bringing a huge range of retro consoles and computers to be played on and for those with some spare cash, goodies to purchase as well. Accompanying the gaming machines we will have a selection of pinball tables and pachinko machines.

The Retro Gamer magazine crew will be making an appearance and have their own stall.

A number of retro celebrities are already signed up to make an appearance at the event and take part in a Q/A session including Archer Maclean, Andy Nuttal, The Oliver Brothers, Jon Hare, Oli Frey, Roger Kean, Mathew Uffindel and Franco Frey.

Gaming competitions will take place throughout the weekend with great prizes to be won.

Tickets for the event can be purchased at: the official website

Oliver Frey & Roger Kean.. been many years since I've seen the Newsfield Publishing Crew! :)

(One of Oli Frey's claim to fames is the Comic Strip from “Superman The Movie” opening titles… but he was also responsible for artwork in the 80's relaunch of “Eagle” comic ..:) )
