Benchmarks I

3DMark 2001SE v330 starts us off. We'd usually benchmark at 1024x768x32 and 1600x1200x32, with both resolutions being subject to 4x antialiasing and 8x anisotropic filtering. However, given the budget nature of the card and lack of muscle, only benchmarks at 1024x768x32 will be considered, both in standard and enhanced (4x AA / 8x AF) forms.

3.2GHz of CPU power can't do much to help the stricken Gainward. The card cannot take advantage of the CPU and subsystem's grunt.

The lack of Z and colour compression, coupled with the relatively low output of the card, manifests itself into some serious benchmarking hurt with 4x AA and 8x AF applied.

Comanche 4

Not too poor a showing from the budget card, but it's quickly swamped by company that's more than double the price, though.

There's not too much to comment on with respect to the above graph, save to say that it was more like a slideshow at times.
