Best Innovation, Best Cooling Product

Best Innovation

Next up is another hotly contested Award, that of Best Innovation. Much head scratching ensued with most of Team HEXUS offering up a vast array of options for the most innovative product at Computex 2006, covering everything from keyboards and mice through to memory and CPUs. The eventual and deserved winner was finally decided with an apoplectic Rys leaping on the bar, stripping to the waist and declaring “Lord of AVIVO Squire Godfrey Cheng has moved from video to try and ass-master the world of multi-GPU!” before beating his chest and passing out. Seeing as he felt so strongly, we thought we’d better let him have his way. So congratulations to ATI, winning the Best Innovation Award for Havok FX on Crossfire.

The Best Innovation Award was accepted by ATI’s Phil Eisler.

Best Cooling Product

The Award for Best Cooling Product was yet again another hard fought battle. Special mentions go to Noise Limit for their innovative phase change cooler which we saw at CeBIT 2006, Zalman for their newly designed Reserator 2 that won’t kill small children if it happens to topple over and Artic Cooling for their handy but fiddly to fit rubber mountings. But even with this stiff competition, the winner of Best Cooling Product goes to Thermalright for their High Riser Heatsink cooling series ducting, an idea so simple and effective that many a forehead was slapped for not thinking of it sooner.
