Milton Keynes, England, 23rd May, 2006 – Elitegroup Computer Systems, Inc. (ECS), a leading motherboard manufacturer, has announced the release of its KA3 MVP, an ATX motherboard supporting the new socket AM2 processors as well as dual, full-bandwidth PCI-Express x16 slots for graphics cards through its ATI™ CrossFire™ Xpress 3200 chipset (RD580). This totally lethal combination means the KA3 MVP is perfect for extreme gamers and enthusiasts that demand unparalleled performance for stunning 3D graphics plus the headroom and stability for extreme overclocking.

The KA3 MVP supports versions of the Athlon™ FX, Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual-Core, Athlon™ 64 and Sempron™ CPUs (all of which are socket AM2) as well as the new AM2 Energy Efficient microprocessors. AMD’s new lineup of low power processors provides 35W and 65W versions of AM2 processors for increased energy savings. Unlike socket 939 and 754 motherboards, the KA3 MVP breaks through previous limitations to support dual channel DDR2-533, 667 and 800 SDRAM memory, which increases overall performance.

The KA3 MVP meets AMD Live!TM digital media platform requirements, providing complete multimedia power to create and bring digital media content to all rooms of a home.

At the heart of the KA3 MVP is the ATI Crossfire Xpress 3200 chip and its great ability to handle overclocking. This includes overclocked FSB bus speeds of 1333 MHz, overclocked DDR2 memory of 1066 MHz and automatic PCI-E overclocking when ATI GFX cards are used.

Other KA3 MVP features include a Realtek ALC883 audio codec for 8-channel HD audio and a host of I/Os including 2 x SATAII, 4 x SATA, 8 x USB 2.0, Dual LAN (1 x Gb, 1 x 10/100), RAID support, 2 x S/PDIF (Optical and Coaxial) and optional 1394.

Availability

The KA3 MVP will be available mid June 2006 at an estimated price of £80 ex VAT.
