It's April, and that means episode four of the Catalyst story for the year. In this release comes a video conversion utility for MCE, video quality improvements, performance improvements and a phat bugfix list.

Performance improvements are:

3DMark06 CPU scores improve as much as 4.9% across all product lines
3DMark06 HDR 2 Deep Freeze (SM3.0) test improves as much as 2%
Call of Duty 2 improves approximately 1.4-2% on Radeon® X1900 and Radeon® X1800 Crossfire™ configurations. Gains are slightly less (1.3%) for non-Crossfire™ Radeon® X1900 and Radeon® X1800 products
FarCry improves 2-3% on ATI Radeon® X1900 non-Crossfire configurations. Greatest improvements result from tests with no AA and AF Half Life 2 improves as much as 3.8% on Radeon® X1900 non-Crossfire configurations. Greatest improvements result from tests with no AA and AF
Unreal Tournament 2004 gains 3-5% on all Radeon® X1x00 non-Crossfire configurations

The bug fix list is rather long, but it includes some Windows and game related bugs, those games including Doom 3, Oblivion, Quake 4 and Dawn of War.

Head on over to the ATI website to pick up the drivers. Also, as we revealed earlier this week, there's also now a new Linux driver release, in which X1K cards are supported, so pengiun fans may want to check those out.

they really are focusing on getting CCC sorted out more, and man, all those obscure ‘0.01% of the market’ fixes.. they run out of other bugs to fix? :D
Cant install.. aiming for a specific uptime sucks :(
Seems like a few people are having a few oddities with this one; I have a corrupted xp intro screen and when installed got a few black screens followed by a ‘windows has recovered from a serious error’ message.

Games seem fine so far though.
Hmmm, maybe Holding off isnt such a bad thing afterall. Keep us up to date! :)
ye i got a “ windows has recovered froma serious error” message aswell..
