ECS showcase five simply smart NAPA platform notebooks at CeBIT

Hannover, Germany, 14th March 2006 - Riding the crest of the new digital age, Elitegroup Computer Systems (ECS) display five simply smart NAPA platform, Intel Centrino mobile technology-based notebooks at CeBIT 2006.

Featuring the Intel Core Duo chip, NAPA platform notebooks consume, on average, three watts of power compared to around four watts consumed by leading competitors. The platform boosts average performance 68 percent beyond that of Intel’s current Sonoma platform, while reducing power consumption an average of 28 percent and extending battery life beyond the five-hour mark. It also improves wireless bandwidth and can help cut the size of a notebook by 30 percent versus today's machines.

The five simply smart widescreen NAPA notebooks are the 15.4-inch ECS G610, the ECS G335 and the ECS G336, the 14.1-inch ECS G410 and the ECS G420. All weigh in at under three kilograms (6.6 pounds) yet these feather weights pack a performance punch that can floor the best of them.

While all share the exciting new NAPA platform, each of these five notebooks has unique simply smart features and capabilities.

The ECS G610 is packed with entertainment features including a 15.4-inch 1280 x 800 resolution WXGA screen, high-end ATI or Nvidia graphic engine support, an onboard 1.3 mega-pixel camera, an integrated analogue TV tuner, a 4-in-1 card reader, and a background light sensor for outstanding display regardless of ambient light.

The ECS G336 features a 15.4-inch WXGA screen, high-end ATI graphic engine support, an integrated hybrid (analogue and digital) TV tuner, as well as a 4-in-1 card reader.

The ECS G335 comes with a 15 or 15.4-inch WXGA screen, the Intel® 945GM graphics with embedded 3D engine, a 4-in-1 card reader as well as a hybrid (analogue and digital) TV tuner.

The ECS G420 notebook is distinguished by its 14.1-inch 1280 x 800 resolution WXGA screen, high-end ATI graphic engine support, an onboard 1.3 mega-pixel camera, an integrated hybrid (analogue and digital) TV tuner, a 4-in-1 card reader, MP3 hot key and high-speed Bluetooth transmission.

The lightest, most mobile member of the Elitegroup NAPA platform line is the ECS G410. This 14.1-inch model comes with a 14.1-inch 1280 x 800 resolution WXGA screen, an onboard 1.3 mega-pixel camera, an integrated hybrid (analogue and digital) TV tuner, a 4-in-1 card reader, MP3 hot key and a background light sensor for outstanding display regardless of ambient light.
