ASUS EAX1900XT and ASUS EAX1900XTX

We told you that retail availability on launch will be strong, and we meant it. We've got multiple retail examples already in the HEXUS labs for performance testing and evaluation, days before launch. The first of those retail samples came from ASUS, so we'll give you a sneak peak at their box art and bundle contents to whet your appetite for a possible purchase.

ASUS Box

Pictured with the reference sample atop the box, the massive boxes contain the graphics board, cabling, full copy of Peter Jackson's King Kong, Power Director 3 (not bad) and the usual utilities and peripheral software bundle.

I am happy that the X1900 series has been able to beat the 7800 GTX 512 but the real test for it will be the 7900 GTX. ATI should have slapped on a few more pixel pipelines on these cards. It's pixel processors can multitask but how well will they face up to the 7900's 32 pixel pipes, higher clocked memory and core? :undecided I'm sure if the X1900 series had 24 physical pixel pipes it would humiliate anything Nvidia could throw at it. Heh just realized this is my first post hi.
So; it's just what I hoped for (and expected), and from the review the rumours of day-one availability appear to be true, but at 9:16am on release day, no retailer as yet appears to have them listed for sale… although OcUK have a dedicated X1900 page (empty) and Scam - sorry - Scan have changed the label for their high-end Radeon category to ‘VGA Cards - ATI (Chipset) - PCI-E X1600-X1900’. So clearly they're expecting to sell them soon. But where are they?

Looking for somebody to sell me an X1900XTX. I have the money. Let's talk…?
Hmm well I won't be rushing out to buy one just yet, but certainly looks very usefull :)

I think I'm going to save for GDDR4 memory on whatever GPU performs the best in Q4/begginning Q1 2007 :)
Nice, but not a huge advancement.

My guess is they've deliberately left some slack in the drivers to keep the x1800xt owners happy. Come the G71 or before we might see a bit of a boost ;)

PS: oh, and how come hexus didn't wait till 2pm like everyone else seems to be doing? Did the NDA forget to restrict it to EST or something? :p
Interesting review but what about power usage?
