The revolution is over for Jim

Jim Merrick of Nintendo has left after 12 years with the company. It seems a strange time to walk out on Nintendo after being such a figure-head in the European marketing campaign.

Jim has been instrumental in the promotion of the Revolution and has conducted many interviews over the last year, revealing many tit bits on the hardware. He even told us that the graphics for the new Revolution will be equal to that of the xbox 360 and the ps3.

The following statement has been issued,

"Today Nintendo officially announced that Jim Merrick who held the position of Nintendo's Software Engineering Manager, Nintendo Network Marketing Manager, and most recently was Managing Director of Sales and Marketing for Nintendo Europe has left the company. "After nearly 12 years with Nintendo, the last three of which were at Nintendo of Europe, Jim Merrick has left the company to persue other interests."

We can confirm through a phone call to PR agency Cake that the information is correct. Nintendo Europe said, “We will be announcing the new European Marketing Director in the coming weeks"

How old is the guy? Maybe there was something we don't know about.

But odd if there isn't - he was pretty successful - far more than the North American one anyway :p
He could have simply been bored with his job.
Was it his fault that games like Trauma Centre, Animal Crossing and Phoenix Wright take forever to come out in Europe?

Luckily it's easy enough to import.
i understand he was a bit of a bg mouth with letting things slip about the Revolution.

Jsut seems strange - wonder where he is going
Probably fed up with nintendo treating Europe like crap.
