As Samsung prepares to take on Apple in the San Francisco US District Court, matters aren't looking up for the Korean firm, which has been denied the right to display pictures of a Sony-style iPhone 4, as Apple has since produced prior-art from 2005 that looks somewhat similar. Likewise, Apple has been granted the right to display a slide-show featuring images of Steve Jobs to the audience jury, whilst Samsung has had a document from Best Buy unsealed that confirms Americans returned GALAXY Tabs thinking they were iPads; though, perhaps for the sake of international embarrassment, the courts may have wished to keep that one sealed.

Samsung P10 1600p tablet

It's not all doom and gloom, at least for the consumer, however, as court documents have also revealed that Samsung has been planning to launch a 1600p 11.8in tablet sometime this year, codenamed 'P10'. Much like we reported at the end of last year, the tablet is to feature a 2,560 x 1,600 pixel display and potentially LTE connectivity. At 11.8in, this offers a PPI of 256, incredibly close the the Retina display of Apple's iPad 3. If rumours were to be believed, despite the tablet's larger display, a thinner bezel could see it sized in a similar manner to current offerings.

It's possible that we won't end-up seeing this tablet in-time for the year's end, perhaps in favour of the GALAXY Note 10.1, though anything could happen at Samsung's upcoming event on the August 15th. It would be quite nice to have a GALAXY Note 11.8 with a high-res display, Samsung.

The big Samsung name and logo on the box and Tablet wasn't a give away?

Well I wouldn't be surprised if these people were paid by Apple to do these things so that they can use these facts in court.

Actually the more I think about it, the more I am inclined to believe this is to be the case.

I'm stuck between this belief, and my unwillingness to underestimate the sheer brain-dead stupidity of the American public.
Lol, probably a bit of both.
