Lian-Li will be exhibiting two new computer case designs, at the upcoming Computex ICT show, that will literally move you. In a press release Lian-Li details its “special edition moving cases”, the surprisingly conservatively named CK-101 and PC-Q15. The designs aren’t so conservative; the CK-101 is a working model steam train computer case while the PC-Q15 is “SUV-esque” and will be driving around the Lian-Li booth during the show.
The steam train- and SUV-inspired computer cases to be shown are fully-equipped working models including standard case features such as 3.5” and 2.5” HDD mounting, an optical drive and USB 3.0 ports. The CK-101 can also emit steam from its funnel. Use of wired peripherals with either of these mobile cases would be tiresome so wireless ones are recommended. The system cases must be battery powered and even though it is a “steam train” I wouldn’t expect the CK-101 to have a coal fired boiler. No details about power supplies were given in the press release.
Alongside these show crowd pleasers Lian-Li mentions a new line of brushed aluminium chassis will be shown at its Computex booth. These will be innovative in more traditional computer functional aspects such as:
- A chassis designed for extreme noise reduction that has no visible vents, and only has a carefully calculated sized intake vent underneath the chassis.
- A server level chassis that can hold an HPTX motherboard with ease and has space to hold up to twenty 3.5” HDDs.
- An upgrade of the PC-X2000F, which holds an EATX motherboard with lots of tool-less features and hot-swap capabilities.
- A skinny ATX chassis with lots of storage potential that can hold VGA cards up to 370mm in length.
The full line-up of Lian-Li aluminium computer cases and the latest Lancool Steel chassis will also be on display for show visitors to check out alongside the newly announced models.
