If you've been paying attention to Hexus over the past couple of weeks and most recently with my look at the EPoX 4G4A+, you'll have noticed some coverage of Intel's newest desktop DDR chipset, the i845G. A business oriented chipset according to Intel, the i845E hybrid with onboard graphics hasn't been limited to OEM systems and boards from less well known manufacturers.

Indeed, with EPoX, darling of the performance enthusiast, bringing out a board based on the chipset, their 2nd-tier stablemate ABIT couldn't resist either and that's what I'm looking at today.

So the ABIT BG7 makes its debut and it's the final part of my look at the chipset and boards based around it. Much like EPoX, ABIT are friends with the overclocker and the enthusiast and consequently they bring out boards to suit. With recent successes like the IT7 which I run in my personal system, AT7 for AMD users and a whole host of excellent P4 products like the BD7-II it wasn't a surprise to see the BG7, especially given EPoX's dalliance with the chipset in the 4G4A+ and ABIT's desire to compete with their rival.

So what makes up the BG7 and is it a performance board like the BD7/BD7-II or is it something a bit more funky like the IT7? Lets take a look.
