Call of Duty 2

Our CoD2 test is a FRAPS run-through on the tankhunt level. The gameplay takes place during a large firefight in the snow, as the Soviets try and repair a communications cable under heavy attack from the opposing force.

The GTX 512 takes NVIDIA's ultimate performance in CoD2 (at least in our benchmark test, which is fairly representative of gameplay performance you'll find throughout CoD2) level with that of ATI's. The GTX lags behind both by some 25% or so at the higher resolutions, indicating the GTX 512 gets a large chunk of its boost from the 550MHz across-the-board clocks.

Best playable is at 1024x768 for everything with 2xAA+TSAA/AAA the preferred AA setting for all, with 8xAF or so. 1280x1024 could be suffered for some of the more pedestrian sections, and switching resolution in CoD2 is a breeze.
