Need for Speed: Most Wanted - Demo

The recently released demo for the latest Need for Speed provides a stern test for any graphics acclerator, not least if shadows are enabled. Turning them off (they're ugly anyway) is a fine performance win on everything. They're left on for the benchmarking, undertaken using FRAPS and manual driving of the car. The 3rd sprint race is driven from start to finish in the souped-up Porsche Cayman S.

Need for Speed: Most Wanted Demo

As before, the GTX 512 is the quickest hardware on test by a fair margin (nearly 20% at 1920x1200, and over 22% at 1600x1200). Until the higher resolutions the X1800 XT can keep up with the GTX 512, but after that it's a quick loss. If any more proof were needed that the GTX 512 is the new fastest board on the block, this penultimate test is it.

A fun demo, HEXUS look forward to using the full game in performance testing going forward.
