Motorola has confirmed pricing and availability in the UK of its new mid-range handset, the Motorola MOTOLUXE.

Running on Android 2.3, the MOTOLUXE features a custom user interface called MotoSwitch and is powered by a single-core 800MHz processor and 512MB of RAM.

Measuring 117.7 x 60.5 x 9.9 mm, it has a slim form factor and is extremely lightweight at just 123.6g. It sports a 4in TFT capacitive touchscreen (480x854,) an 8 megapixel camera with LED flash, and a front-facing VGA camera for video-chat.

Integrated applications include Facebook, Twitter, You Tube and Google Maps.

The MOTOLUX certainly isn't going to blow anyone away with its specifications, but it does look rather nice and should be available at a mid-range price of £250 from Amazon on March 22nd.

Good to see ‘mid-range’ devices with a decent screen res :)
Looks like an okay device. Although two concerns - first off 800MHz processor, thought faster than that was needed these days. Secondly “only” Gingerbread - not an issue in itself, but Motorola (imho of course) STILL haven't got their s**t together viz ICS upgrades - only seen the RAZR line as confirmed to get it.

Nice to see removable battery (I'm guessing) and removable storage in a relatively low priced device. :)
Totally agree with crossy on all points - the processor is an odd choice. I've seen mid range dual core phones so if a £250 single core phone at least make it 1ghz - even my 2 year old x10 has that.
