At last the Android 4.0 Galaxy Nexus, love-child of Google and Samsung, hits UK stores and is on sale today, with the official Google Nexus Twitter account confirming that the phone will be available from Phones4U. A bit misleading Google Nexus Twitter account! As Phones4U Twitter account also confirms that stock will only be available from its 112 Oxford Street store, which by now we strongly suspect may have sold out.

Google and Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Fear not though, future Galaxy Nexus owners, as Phones4U will have the device on sale in stores from tomorrow, with a SIM free edition setting you back £549.95. Over the next few days, O2, Three and Vodafone also expect to receive stock and are currently taking orders. Not quite the smooth launch Google and Samsung has perhaps hoped for but not too far off as handsets will seemingly hit most providers by week's end.

Who here on HEXUS.net plans to buy this bundle of Android 4.0 goodness?

Sim free Ā£549.95? :-O I hope that's the 32GB model.
no upgrade slot? slower than the SII? i`ll pass thanks
Better screen - big selling point.

Still, lack of microSD is a bit of a fail.
Depends on your usage.

I've never filled a 4GB card in my phone. So a choice or 16 or 32? waay more than enough.
