The paint probably hasn't dried on your fresh new coat of Catalyst 11.10, but it's time to apply an overcoat as AMD has just released its next installment; Catalyst 11.11.

The latest release, now available from game.amd.com, offers greater support for hardware-accelerated Adobe Flash content, as well as a couple of resolved issues - including a fix for corrupted images in iD's latest first-person-shooter, Rage.

There are no game-specific, single-GPU performance boosts to speak of, but there are new CrossFire profiles for those of you enjoying multiple Radeon GPUs. Get it quick, as Catalyst 11.12 isn't far off.

Here's AMD's complete breakdown of the new features and resolved issues:

NEW FEATURES

Adobe Flash Player 11 support

  • Enables full support of the GPU accelerated Stage 3D API and Stage 3D applications
  • Supported on the AMD Radeon HD Series of GPUs, A-Series APU and E-Series APU

I'm sure many people are looking for BF3 performance enhancements for single card setups, like me!

Anyone have any news or thoughts on this?
The application profiles for Crossfire are still at 11.9 CAP4 (at least they were an hour ago when i looked). They claimed to have some improvements for BF3 in but they actually made the performance i was getting alot worse and the card loads massively unbalanced on my 2x 5870's so had to go back to 11.9 CAP1 which i had on before. Can't comment on CAP2 and 3 as didnt bother with them.

Didn't they already put those in 11.10?
Yeah but you always hope for random free performance enhancements from new drivers. And my 5870 sucks in mutiplayer for FPS so I need something!

An overclocked 5870 should be more than capable of running almost any game at the minute, unless you're going mental with the eye-candy ;)
