EVGA recently unveiled its new GeForce GFX 560 Ti 2Win dual-core graphics card.
The new card will feature two of the GF114 cores found on a standard 560 Ti card. They will each be clocked in at 850MHz, or 28MHz higher than a stock card. The 11.5in-long board will boast 2GB of memory with 256.6GB/s effective bandwidth, split down the middle for the two GPUs. Given the board size and minimum power requirement of a 700W PSU with at least 50A on the 12V rail, system builders and enthusiasts may wish to think twice before including this unit in any smaller systems.
Having two GPUs comes with other advantages, such as the ability to support 3D surround, or in fact just three simultaneous monitors on a single card, something which previously required the purchase of the costly GTX 590 (for NVIDIA at least). The card is due to retail at around $520, with UK prices yet to be confirmed. This is around $30 more than a GTX 580 but EVGA is claiming a 30 per cent performance lead over the GTX 580 in both 3DMark 11 and UNiGiNE benchmarks and so perhaps worth a punt.
We suspect that this premium offering of GF114 cores may be EVGA's way of maximising profit on remaining stock, as NVIDIA looks likely to drop the chips as it ushers in the 'new' 560 Ti GF110-based refresh later this year.
