Plextor has expanded its SSD line-up with the M2P series - positioned as a successor to the M2S series, that debuted earlier this year.

Shipping in two capacity choices - 128GB at approximately £200 including VAT, and 256GB at approximately £383 including VAT - the M2P series utilises Marvell's 88SS9174 SSD controller, and boasts maximum sequential read/write speeds of up to 500MB/s and 440MB/s respectively, depending on capacity.

Utilising SATA 6Gbps connectivity, the company touts the implementation of its 'True Speed' technology, which is said to deliver speedy and sustained levels of performance, together with the use of high-quality NAND flash from Toshiba.

Plextor tells us that the M2P series is bundled with a set of 3.5in brackets, as well as True Image from Acronis, to enable 'easy and fuss-free' migration from an existing HDD.
