The successor to Intel's 510 Series of SSDs, is expected to arrive in November, according to the latest reports.

The 520 Series will ship in capacities starting from 60GB, through to 480GB, with stops at 120GB, 160GB and 240GB. Utilising SATA 6Gbps connectivity, the 2.5in drives use 25nm MLC flash and are said to deliver maximum sequential read speeds of up to 520MB/s, and maximum sequential write speeds of up to 500MB/s.

There's no word on pricing at the moment, but it's believed that Intel is positioning the 520 Series to provide a greater range of capacity choices, lower latencies and improved performance - just what you'd expect then, really.
