We last reported on Intel Panther Point (and Ivy Bridge) information almost a month ago. At that time, 1H 2012 remained the best estimate we had on a possible launch timeframe, and it was assumed that Q1 would be the most likely window of opportunity.

Word now has it though, that 22nm Ivy Bridge CPUs and the associated 7-series platform, are pencilled in for a launch in Q2 2012 - between March and April, to be precise.

This information has, it is claimed, been passed down by Intel to its partners and infers that if accurate, the manufacturer is seemingly steadying its pace and launch schedules.

Seems likely, k_o.
:( Noooooo
I'm sure my current rig will be fine until Q2 2012 if i choose to wait for Ivy Bridge, but i'll see what Bulldozer has to offer first.
Let's see how BD will do in next few weeks. If not any better than 2600K, I'll wait for 2011 or IB
