PowerColor is toiling away on a custom dual-GPU SKU, which it plans to debut at the upcoming Computex trade show, in Taipei.

It's AMD's Barts XT GPU - already powering the HD 6870 - that's said to be taking centre stage. Apparently packing in a total of 2,240 stream processors (1,120 per GPU), a dual 256-bit memory controller and 2,048MB GDDR5 (1,024MB per GPU), PowerColor is seemingly creating an offering which would be at home with something like the HD 6890 (or HD 6980?) moniker.

There's no word on what type of cooling contraption will be strapped to this powerhouse, but it's expected to be a custom solution that will be keeping temperatures in check.

While this is one of PowerColor's own creations, that isn't to say other AIBs aren't beavering away on something similar. Word has it that such offerings may fit neatly into the $400-$500 US Dollar market segment.

This sounds really cool. Powercolor do such innovative graphics cards.
How many will they have to sell to make their development costs back I wonder?
