You may be waiting for this, but if something less imposing sufficiently satisfies your penchant for graphics cards, PowerColor has announced that it's bringing its Vortex cooling technology to the HD 6950.

The PCS+ HD6950 Vortex Edition finds its way to market with factory-overclocked speeds of 850MHz on the GPU, and 1,300MHz (5,200MHz effective) on the 2,048MB GDDR5 memory. PowerColor also mentions that its solution uses premium components - dubbed as Gold Power Kit - to foster a stable and efficient overclocking environment.

Users are empowered to adjust the physical attributes of the cooling solution - for example, modifying the height of the fans is said to optimise air flow and balance ambient temperatures. Also donning a perforated fan design and, what is described as anti-turbulence abilities, PowerColor claims a thermal advantage of up to 10 per cent, compared to reference solutions.
