AMD has once again raised the bar for graphics performance with the launch of the dual-GPU Radeon HD 6990.

We've taken a close look at the card in our in-depth review - and found it to be insanely quick - but we get the feeling some of you will want to take a look as well. Browsing through the virtual shelves of various online retailers, we've found launch-day availability to be hit-or-miss and pricing can vary by as much as £60.

Doesn't sound a lot when you consider the card's £550 RRP, but every little helps, right? Here's a brief snapshot of what's available at retail right now:

Pricing is correct as of 11:00am, Tuesday March 8.

Pricing, as expected, is hovering around the £550 mark but limited stock has pushed that figure up closer to £600 at some retailers. At the time of writing, only Overclockers.co.uk claims to have stock available, with HIS and Sapphire cards shipping today priced at £569.99 and £589.99, respectively.

Novatech.co.uk claims to have just three Sapphire models due today, and is charging £589.98 for the privilege of pre-ordering one, whereas Scan and Ebuyer have the most competitive pricing but with no stock available immediately. £538.43 to pre-order the Sapphire HD 6990 from Scan.co.uk seems a good deal, as we'd expect pricing to rise back above the £550 mark when stock becomes readily available.

All I can say is OUCH!
A pair of HD6970 2GB cards are around £550 to £560 at least so the HD6990 4GB cards at under £550 are not too overpriced in comparison.
still overpriced!
its only overpriced if your not on the bleeding edge…..
US market
$699 = £432.9
that's so unfair
