Making sweet music
Samsung has added another star to its Galaxy line-up with the Galaxy S WiFi 4.0 Smart Player.
The entertainment player has a 4 inch Super Clear LCD display and can be packed with apps and music. In fact, it promises to deliver all the features of the Galaxy S smartphone, such as video communications via VoIP services and videos without the phone bit and the pricey contract.
Powered by Android 2.2. Froyo and WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, the Galaxy S WiFi 4.0 can access apps from the Android Market, while VoIP support via Skype allows video calls over WiFi as well as free calls among Skype users, capable thanks to player's front VGA camera.
The device also packs a 3.2MP camera and supports DivX HD, for high-definition video playback for watching films on the go. The player also supports various codec standards including MPEG4, H264, DivX, XviD, WMV so users can access a huge catalogue of material from the web.
It comes in 3 sizes: 8GB, 16GB and 32GB but also has a microSD port for boosting space. The Galaxy S WiFi 4.0 Smart Player will be available during the first half of 2011 and launches in the UK first.
