Overclocking

The reference card doesn't provide any means of adjusting voltage for either the GPU or memory, but that didn't stop us tinkering with frequencies to see what we could get out of the sample.

Already-high clocks of 823MHz core and 4,008MHz memory indicate that there may not be a whole heap of headroom available, but we were pleasantly surprised by the results.

Responding well to our ramping up the clocks, we managed a solid 950MHz core and 4,412MHz on the RAM, suggesting that partners will be able to hit the magical 1GHz clock with a little extra work.

Here's how the overclocked card compared with results in Aliens vs. Predator and Just Cause 2, both at 2,560x1,600.

Some tasty numbers there, coming close to encroaching on GTX 570 territory, and we can imagine that partner-clocked cards will fill out the £200-£259 pricing gap that exists between the GeForce GTX 560 Ti and GTX 570.
