3DMark Vantage

Making an appearance when evaluating new architectures, we run the 'high' preset and note the GPU score as well as Test 4, which includes extensive use of the GPU's stream-out function and vertex and geometry shading ability. It's not lost on us that 3DMark11 has been launched at the same time as this review.

3DMark Vantage is the poster-boy for the GeForce GTX 500-series family. The test runs well because it uses lots of HDR rendering - a key strength of the GF110 architecture. GeForce GTX 570 is handsomely ahead of GTX 480.

Comparison with GPU score GTX 480  GTX 470   HD 5870
 Faster/slower (per cent)  +12.6  +41.1  +23.2

This is about as good as it gets for GTX 570, beating out the 470 by a whopping 41 per cent in the GPU test.
