Despite the launch of the most powerful consumer GPU on the planet, NVIDIA is still marred by its reputation for concentrating heavily on professional graphics and high-performance computing. In an effort to bring the focus back to the gamers, the company has just launched an all-new portal that aims to be the go-to destination for all its latest GPU news.

As well as providing an easy place to get a hold drivers updates, GeForce.com hosts information on all of the company's products and technologies, information on new games and tips and tricks for getting the most out of your GPU. There's even a selection of 'optimal playable settings' for a variety of games and graphics-cards to help guarantee adequate performance without the hassle of trial and error.

There are also a few links to external product reviews - that we assume have been handpicked to show the cards in an especially positive light - and some articles on recent events, including details from BlizzCon and an Interview with ID's Todd Hollenshead.

The Flash-heavy site - which is still in ‘beta' - seems like a good portal for anyone in need of an NVIDIA fix. It's also a nice upgrade - not to mention a consolidation - of the myriad of ageing sites that the company is already running, including SLI Zone and nZone. In comparision, the slick interface is a lot more impressive than AMD's equivalent page, which is much more of a straight-up video-card news sort of affair.

If nothing else, GeForce.com is an attractive public front to the company's consumer operations that cuts away all the talk of developers, professionals and high-performance computing that we've recently come to expect from NVIDIA.

Well, the GTX275 isn't even included in their “optimise your GPU” section. Nice one NVIDIA.
