The month of October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and in an effort to help raise awareness, Microsoft is releasing a special edition of its Wireless Mobile Mouse 4000. Not only is the pointer adorned with a pink finish, but $4 - ten per cent of the retail price - from every unit sold will be donated to research charity Susan G Kormen for the Cure.
While $4 isn't a huge amount, the software-giant has promised to donate a minimum of $200,000 (around £125,000) to the foundation, regardless of sales.
Other than the finish, the special edition model is a regular Mobile Mouse 4000. This obviously means that it's equipped with a BlueTrack sensor that will be capable of accurately tracking across virtually any surface. Other features include a 'nano-receiver' that stows away inside the base, four buttons, four-way scrolling and a claimed 10-month battery life.
The mouse will be available until September 11 2011 and is currently retailing for $39.95 from Amazon in the US. Unfortunately, Microsoft hasn't indicated if it will be making the Susan G Kormen for the Cure Special Edition available in any other territories.
