More details on Intel Sandy Bridge CPUs leak out

Via the ever-reliable medium of the leaked road-map slide, it looks like we have a little more info on Intel's upcoming Sandy Bridge CPUs.

In line with earlier rumours, Computer Base has details on the clock speeds and thermal envelopes of a number of the company's unreleased desktop and notebook chips.

Unsurprisingly, we have dual- and quad-core models with and without Hyper-Threading on offer for the desktop. Clock speeds start at 2.5GHz for the entry level Core i3-2100T and go as high as 3.4GHz with a 400MHz Turbo Boost for the top-of-the-line Core i7-2600.

Intel's low-power ‘S' and ‘T' designations are also listed and have TDPs as low as 45W for quad-core chips and 35W for the dual-core models.  Processors with unlocked multipliers are also making a return and are designated with the ‘K' suffix .

Of course, one leaked Intel road-map is never enough and Expreview has - almost simultaneously - confirmed this data from an independent source as well as providing clock speeds for the graphics cores.  Interestingly, it looks like these will also benefit from Turbo Boost.

The slides also cover Intel's upcoming notebook processors.  Again, dual- and quad-core models are listed, and all seem to have Hyper-Threading enabled.  Interestingly, the clock speeds have remained quite high and the top of the line Extreme Edition i7-2920XM manages an impressive 1,000MHz Turbo Boost.  Combined with an 8MB cache this processor should be quite the road warrior, though a 55W TDP will mean that you won't be able to stray from a mains supply for too long.

While these rumours obviously aren't verifiable just yet, Intel's road maps are about as reliable as you can get without an official announcement.  With these chips expected to drop later this year, we're looking forward to trying out the company's latest and greatest silicon.

It'll be interesting to know the CPU performance cost of having onboard graphics clock on the chip within the same thermal envelope.
The turbo speeds of the non-power efficient chips look suspiciously low to me. Lynnfield can already manage nearly 700mhz increase for the same type of chip.

Unfortunately those Fusion chips to which you refer will probably have significantly lower performance than these Intel chips.
Just found this article on Bit-Tech through the Wikipedia Sandy-Bridge article.
Oh and I posted this on another thread by mistake, I'm not deliberately spamming. :P
