GTX 460 vs. Radeon HD 4850

The pre-overclocked GeForce GTX 460 768MB provides near-double the HD 4850's numbers, augmented, as it is, by a faster subsystem.

The current Radeon HD 5750, priced from £90, is faster than the HD 4850, so it's no surprise to see NVIDIA's latest mid-range champ give it a good whipping. Incidentally, the DX11 benchmark score for the GTX 460 is 55.35fps.

Power

The Core i3 530 chip doesn't pull much juice, even when overclocked, and the Scan system has a 34W advantage when systems are idling.

Load them up by running Prime95 on one core and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 on the other and it's all pretty close. Looking at the numbers, the Corsair 450W PSU would comfortably power a second card, should an SLI-forming PCIe x16 slot exist.
