Battlefield: Bad Company 2

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is a recent addition to our testing suite. The game is set to maximum detail and a 30-second section is FRAPS'd whilst we run through the trenches, stumbling upon a bunch of enemy soldiers and letting rip.

GeForce GTX 460 1,024MB and GTX 465 1,024MB produce near-identical frame-rates in BC2, and both are a little quicker than the Radeon HD 5830 at all but 2,560x1,600. The minimum frame-rates are pretty similar, too.

The Radeon HD 5850 is a good 20 per cent faster than either GTX 460, putting the new upstarts in their places. Still, even the GTX 460 768MB produces smooth-ish frame-rates at 1,920x1,080.
