A staggering seven copies of Windows 7 are sold every second, with around three quarters of all businesses considering Microsoft's latest operating system for their organisation.
Microsoft has released beta versions of Photo Gallery, Messenger, Movie Maker and Sync today, to bolster its Windows Live proposition of free apps for sharing photos, films and messages.
The Microsoft beta programmes connect to popular video sharing websites like YouTube and Flickr, plus major social networking, blogging and email sites. The improved Windows Live Sync keeps users' files synchronised across multiple PCs and in the cloud, even allowing them to access their PC over the web with Sync's new remote desktop feature.
The computer giant believes the new Windows Live Essentials ‘combines the power of the PC and the reach of the cloud' to enhance its Windows 7 package and recognises the way people connect and share content is continuing to shift toward the cloud.
Microsoft says the new Windows Live Essentials blends ‘the best of the PC with the best of the cloud' and maintains the PC continues to be the hub of necessary activities such as organising photos and managing mail as well as watching films.
