Acer has today introduced the latest addition to its popular line of netbooks by taking the wraps off of the Aspire One 533.

Sporting a glossy new look, the Aspire One 533 measures just 27.2mm at its thickest point and weighs as little as 1.1kg.

Equipped with a 10.1in LED-backlit screen - with a choice of 1,280x720 or 1,024x600 resolutions - the system hopes to tick the right boxes for high-def entertainment, ultra-portability and optimal performance.

At the heart of the system, users will be able to choose from either a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N455 or a 1.83GHZ Intel Atom N475 processor, coupled with up to 2GB of DDR3 memory and integrated Intel GMA 3150 graphics.

Up to 250GB of storage will be made available from a 2.5in hard-disk drive, and there's a five-in-one card reader available as standard. Elsewhere, you'll find a multi-touch trackpad, a built-in webcam, three USB ports, audio jacks, Ethernet, HDMI out and both Wireless N and Bluetooth connectivity.

Battery life stands at around four hours from the basic three-cell battery, but the range-topping six-cell alternative promises to raise on-the-go use to up to 10 hours.

Sounds rather nice, and it looks pretty spiffin' too. The Acer Aspire One 533 will be made available on July 1st, but pricing is yet to be confirmed.

They look nice.
… with a choice of 1,280x720 … resolutions …

here's the eye-catching bottom line - a proper 720p resolution on a netbook. As usual it'll all come down to the pricing, but this looks like an interesting piece of kit…
3 cell = 4 hours
6 cell = 10 hours

DOES NOT COMPUTE

Your assuming the cells have the same capacity. The bigger one may have more expensive cells as its an addon.

Does when you read the original. It states up to ten hours, which means 5-6 hours in real money.
