The onboard audio offering, courtesy of an EAX 4.0 compliant SupremeFX X-Fi solution, also has the company hoping that you'll be stimulated in more ways than just visually. Let's not forget support for SATA 6GB/s and USB 3.0 technologies, to satisfy that need for speed, of course.
ASUS' ROG Connect wizardry hasn't been forgotten and amidst support for AM3 Phenom II CPUs, we also find the foundations to house up to 16GB of DDR3 memory, thanks to four DIMM slots.
Another of the ASUS initiatives touted, is the company's 'GameFirst' feature which is said to enhance the solution's networking pipeline to - it is claimed - prioritise bandwidth, thereby eliminating the bane of many an online gamer.
Certainly not wanting to be seen as resting on its laurels, the Crosshair IV Formula ships with the latest version of the company's Turbo Key II 'auto tuning routine' and is enhanced by the usual mix of ASUS implementations to make overclocking experiments that little bit more accessible and interesting.
Whilst pricing hasn't been confirmed, we expect that this new member of the ASUS ROG family will probably find its comfort zone in something on the higher-end of the scale.
