There wasn't a shortage of new SSDs at this week's CeBIT trade show, but the most coveted might be Corsair's Force Series - the company's quickest 2.5in SSDs to date.

Available in 100GB or 200GB capacities, the drives make use of Intel MLC NAND Flash memory and the increasingly-popular SandForce NF-1200 processor to deliver blistering sequential read and write speeds of up to 285MB/s and 275MB/s, respectively.

We know the numbers, and there's little doubting the performance on offer, but what we didn't know until now is UK pricing.

Fortunately for those with credit cards at the ready, UK retailer SCAN.co.uk* now has the 100GB Force Series F100 available for pre-order at a cost of £333.19, whilst the larger 200GB model - the Force Series F200 - can be yours for just £578.44.

There's currently no firm indication of when exactly the drives will ship, but Corsair has previously suggested that both models would become available in around two weeks time.

SSDs, albeit getting quicker by the minute, don't appear to be getting cheaper as quick as we'd like. Dreams of owning a Corsair SSD seemingly dashed? Not to worry, there's always the cheaper, lower-capacity Reactor and Nova series alternatives.
