Been eyeing up one of Hewlett-Packard's gorgeous TouchSmart PCs only to find yourself longing for a quad-core model?

If so, your wait has come to an end with today's arrival of the TouchSmart 600 Quad series.

The latest refresh of HP's popular all-in-one desktop may look identical 600xt series before it, but the Quad branding should give you a hint as to what's new inside.

Yep, powering the TouchSmart 600 Quad is a choice of quad-core Intel processors - namely the 1.6GHz Core i7 720QM or 1.73GHz Intel Core i7 820QM. That's joined by up to 8GB of DDR3 memory, up to 1.5TB of hard-disk storage and a 1GB NVIDIA GeForce GT230M graphics card, all housed behind the all-important multi-touch 23in 1080p display.

There's Wireless N, Bluetooth and Gigabit Ethernet connectivity, HDMI input for hooking up your games console, a six-in-one card reader, built-in webcam and mic, integrated stereo speakers, audio out, five USB ports, and a slot-loading DVD burner. A Blu-ray drive is available as an optional extra, as is a TV tuner, and Microsoft's finger-friendly Windows 7 operating system features as standard. Still getting to grips with the whole finger-led experience? Not to worry, a wireless keyboard and mouse is part of the bundle.

No sign of UK availability yet, but the TouchSmart 600 Quad Series is now available in the US with prices starting at $1,699.99.
