There's already a stupendous amount of hype surrounding Apple's "latest creation", and though the device - thought to be a tablet computer - has yet to be officially confirmed and detailed by Apple itself, it seems a large number of shoppers are already sold.
According to a survey carried out by UK website vouchercodes.co.uk, 54 per cent of Britons would consider buying an Apple Tablet. An astonishing number, considering that the device is yet to be announced, and its functionality remains little more than a question mark.
3,000 Britons are said to have taken part in the pre-launch survey, conducted earlier this month, and though the level of interest will no doubt please the management at Apple, there are a few causes for concern. Of the 3,000 surveyed, 40 per cent claimed to have no interest in Apple's device, and 25 per cent stated they would buy the Tablet at the right price.
Drilling down further into the statistics, 46 per cent of shoppers would only be willing to spend £250 on the upcoming Apple device - whilst a further 25 per cent would be willing to fork out up to £500. A price point that industry speculation suggests Apple will be unable to meet.
In terms of functionality, a web browser, e-reader capability, multimedia playback and handwriting recognition top the Tablet's most wanted features list. Gaming, too, could be another major lure for consumers as 49 per cent of those surveyed state they would prefer an Apple Tablet to a Nintendo DS or Sony PSP if it were able to play games.
