There's something fishy with the two-card HD 5970 numbers. Theory tells us that adding double the GPU rendering power shouldn't result in more than 2x the performance, but the results were consistent over many runs.

Whatever the case, H.A.W.X scales very well on both high-end setups and, again, two HD 5850s beat out an HD 5970.

Idle power-draw is relatively good when compared to other high-end cards'. There's no getting around the under-load figures, which push system-wide juice above half a kilowatt. Still, the cards' performance is greater than the dual-GTX 295s and power-draw is around 100W lower.
