Now that USB 3.0-supporting motherboards are out in the wild, you're probably going to want some kit that's able to take advantage of the added bandwidth.

In terms of USB pen drives, it's California's Super Talent that claims to be offering the "world's first" SuperSpeed solution, the USB 3.0 RAIDDrive.

Super Talent's latest, pictured above, is expected to reach stores in December and will be available in 32GB, 64GB and 128GB capacities.

Measuring a chunky  95mm x 37mm x 13.5mm, it promises transfer speeds of up to 200MB/s when hooked up to a USB 3.0 port. Use a separate USB Attached SCSI (UAS) driver, and Super Talent reckons you'll see speeds of up to 320MB/s. The drive is backward compatible with USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 ports, but will of course be restricted in speed when connected to the older interfaces.

There's no word on pricing yet, but expect the USB 3.0 RAIDDrive - and probably a wave of USB 3.0 drives from other manufacturers - to appear as soon as next month.

Re: News - Super Talent teases USB 3.0 pen drive
Only the USB3 B connector is bigger.

This has some good photos and diagrams of the new A and Mini connectors:

Epic fail :p

I wouldn't call 3 months late "EPIC FAIL" personally. 802.11n, now that was EPIC FAIL :)

The spec was finalised last November. It's just taken a year for people to implement the standard and produce parts based on it.
