London, UK, 9th December, 2002 - ATI Technologies Inc. (TSX: ATY, NASDAQ: ATYT), today announced that Time Computers, the UK's biggest computer manufacturer, has selected its award winning RADEON(tm) 9700 range of visual processing units (VPU) for the top end models within its premium Platina range of PCs, and its RADEON(tm) 9500 VPU for its Power flex, Time XP and Platina ST package systems. ATI's VPUs will be featured in Times's premier Platina range and other PCs over the crucial Christmas period.

Time is the biggest PC system builder in the UK and sells to consumers typically buying their first PC. Consumers are looking for excellent all-round computers, and graphics capabilities are a key element in their choice. Whether they use the PC for gaming, web access, or for other lifestyle applications, such as digital photography, ATI's RADEON visual processing units will deliver breathtaking performance.

The Platina models will use ATI's RADEON 9500 and RADEON 9700 visual processing units which boast a number of key features that power an extreme level of graphics quality and performance, triumphing over every other product on the market. Its architecture features 256-bit memory, 128MB fast DDR memory, eight fully-programmable parallel rendering pipelines, full floating point architecture, Microsoft® DirectX® 9 support, and AGP 8X support.

The Platina ST package as well as Time's own brand, the XP2400+ ST, and the Power flex 2600+ Pro will use ATI's RADEON 9500 visual processing unit.

One of the main considerations for Time Computers was that the ATI visual processing units are the only ones currently available with full hardware support for Microsoft® DirectX® 9.

Imtiaz Ahmed, Head of Research & Development at Time, said; "Our Platina range is aimed at people who are targeting a higher specification PC and therefore demand an uncompromising performance without an excessive price tag. With the RADEON VPU range, ATI has demonstrated real industry leadership and a step change in price performance. The fact that these parts support DirectX® 9, means that our consumers are future proofed for the next generation of high end applications."

"Time Computers is the UK's leading PC manufacturer and one of the biggest names on the High Street which is why we chose to partner with them in our recent graphics road show," said Peter Edinger, Vice President and Managing Director ATI Technologies (Europe). "We have visited shopping centres up and down the country demonstrating to the man and woman in the street just how great graphics can be. Now these people have the opportunity to buy systems with these same capabilities at affordable prices from a trusted supplier," concluded Mr Edinger.
