Despite having publically demonstrated its Pine Trail platform - consisting of a next-gen Atom processor codenamed Pineview and a chipset codenamed Tiger Point - Intel has remained quiet on its plans to introduce the products to market.

That isn't stopping the rumour mill, though, and the latest gossip to emerge from French site blogeee.net suggests that Intel's Pineview launch will consist of two processors - the Atom N450 and Atom N470.

Both parts will feature a CPU, a GPU and a memory controller on a single die and the Atom N450 is believed to be a single-core offering clocked at 1.6GHz. The Atom N470, meanwhile, cranks things up a notch and is believed to be clocked at 1.83GHz with a 667MHz front-side bus and support for Hyper-Threading, allowing for two simultaneous threads.

According to reports, both processors will be 64-bit capable and the Atom N470 - complete with a yet-to-be-specified integrated GPU - will feature a TDP of 6.5W.

Recent rumours have suggested that Pineview-based systems could appear late in 2009, while other sources have stated that consumers won't see Intel's next-gen Atom until early in 2010.
