The chips

The first visage of an LGA1156 chip. This one is an engineering-sample Core i5 750. It should sell for around £139 in retail form.

An ES Core i7 870. This one will etail for around £385. It idles at a 1.2GHz and clocks up to 3.46GHz with single-core Turbo Boost.

The rear of the chip is identical for both models.

Note how much smaller the LGA1156 chips are when compared to LGA1366.

And the fast-spinning fan/heatsink accompanying both chips. We expect the same model to be in PIB retail packages.
