It might have been a week since NZXT last launched a chassis, so we're due something new. Fortunately, the company that claims to be "built on realising the dreams of gamers worldwide" isn't wanting to disappoint and has let loose the Beta EVO.
The latest addition to NZXT's rapidly-increasing range, pictured below, is an updated revision of the original Beta launched back in May.
The chassis still measures 200mm x 430mm x 501mm, and it's as awkward-looking as ever. Still, it's one of many budget NZXT chassis and for a so-called gaming solution, it's a snip at just $49.99.
There's room for four 5.25in and five 3.5in drive bays, graphics cards up to 10.5in in length and standard ATX motherboards. How's it any different to the original Beta? Well, look closer and you'll notice there are a few changes; the Beta EVO now supports a bottom-mounted PSU, and that relocation has made room for two top-mounted 140mm fans, allowing for up to six fans in total.
We wouldn't expect to find class-leading build quality at this price, but the Beta EVO's surprisingly well equipped. There's a filter for the front intake, tool-less drive bays, pre-drilled holes for water-cooling kit, a cutout in the motherboard tray for easy CPU cooler installation, and a decent serving of cable-routing holes. Not to mention an all-black finish that we tend to associate with premium chassis.
Can't be bad for just under 50 bucks. Can it?
