Microsoft kicked off its Windows 7 pre-order promotion just the other day, and the public response has been nothing short of phenomenal.

According to retailer Amazon, the first seven hours of Windows 7 sales resulted in a greater number of purchases than 17 weeks of Windows Vista pre-orders.

With Microsoft's limited edition stock going quickly, many retailers are now charging more than the original £49.99 pre-order price. Fortunately, it seems Argos still has promo-priced stock available - and it can be ordered using voucher code "Game20".

Put Windows 7 Home Premium E in your basket, add the voucher code, and you should see a checkout price of £39.99. We haven't yet seen any other pre-order as cheap and we don't envisage this deal lasting long.
