EVGA has been working on an all-in-one dual-display solution for as long as we can remember. Yet, for reasons unknown to us, the display is only now making its way to retail.

Dubbed the InterView 1700, the twofold display features a pair of 17in widescreen LCD panels that each offer a resolution of 1,440x900.

Each screen is attached to a single desktop stand and can rotate 180 degrees horizontally, allowing - in theory - for it to be viewed from either side of a desk. Useful, perhaps, if giving a presentation, and the image will automatically rotate when a screen is flipped. The screens can also be folded 90 degrees, allowing for easy storage when not in use.

EVGA quotes a contrast ratio of 500:1, a response time of 8ms and a brightness of 220cd/mĀ². Nothing breathtaking in terms of image quality, but there are a few additional goodies. The InterView 1700's stand incorporates a 1.3 megapixel webcam, a built-in microphone and three USB ports, too.

EVGA appears to be targeting the professional market - to whom dual-displays have become something of a must, but we believe gamers could be interested too.

Commenting on the display, EVGA president Andrew Han had this to say:

We found the need to improve today's face to face interaction in all business environments, and that is why we spent so much effort to develop the InterView. EVGA's unique, patented design for the InterView, using two rotating displays will redefine business interaction around the world.

Bold claims indeed, but we reckon the choice of smaller-than-usual 17in displays might be a limiting factor. That and the price tag of around $650.

Now if this were triple screen and 19" 4:3 at 1280x1024 it would be just what I'm looking for!

Sounds good to me. Especially if it auto-compensated for the display frames to provide a more seamless view like the Matrox Triple Head to Go
