Micro-ATX boards designed around Intel's Core i7-supporting X58 chipset aren't entirely new - and we've already reviewed such an offering from ASUS - but EVGA is today getting in on the act with the launch of its X58 SLI Micro.
The board, pictured below in eye-catching red and black, aims to offer "the power, performance and stability of the EVGA X58 motherboards, in a compact size". Useful for a HTPC, or a LAN-party rig, says EVGA.
Despite trimming the board down to a 243.6mm x 243.6mm mATX form factor, EVGA isn't skimping on the high-end features it's renowned for. Offering plenty of grunt for Intel's Core i7 platform, the board supports two-way SLI and tri-channel DDR3 memory courtesy of six 240-pin DIMM slots.
Making the board unique to EVGA are overclocker-friendly features such as EVGA's VDroop Control, support for the E-LEET tuning utility, and EZ Voltage.
The X58 SLI Micro offers six SATA ports, supporting RAID 0, 1, 5, 0+1 and JOB. In addition to the two SLI-supporting PCIe x16 slots, the board also sports a single PCIe x1 slot and a single 32-bit PCI 2.1 slot.
EVGA's lists a MSRP of $199.99, and the board's looking like a useful alternative to ASUS' Rampage II GENE.
