Sapphire has decided to give AMD's ATI Radeon HD 4890 the royal treatment by announcing two new companions to its existing 1,000MHz ATOMIC edition.

Joining the top-end card are the Vapor-X and TOXIC editions, completing Sapphire's usual trinity of custom-cooled derivatives.

The pre-overclocked Radeon HD 4890 TOXIC, pictured above, utilises the same Vapor-X and heatpipe cooling system found on the ATOMIC edition, but finds itself clocked slightly lower. The card's core is clocked at a still-tasty 960MHz out of the box, and its 1GB of GDDR5 memory operates at an effective 4,200MHz.

Sounds mighty similar to the ATOMIC edition, but getting to 960MHz should be somewhat easier, and Sapphire consequently expects wider availability of the TOXIC variant.

Completing the trio is the Sapphire Radeon HD 4890 Vapor-X, pictured above. The card - first seen late last week - features Sapphire's custom Vapor-X cooler and is equipped with a wide array of connectivity options - namely DVI, VGA, HDMI and DisplayPort, too.

Although promising to be quieter than AMD's reference design, it'll be quicker, too. The Vapor-X edition's GPU is clocked at 870MHz and its 1GB of GDDR5 memory hits 4,200MHz.

Tasty trio, but there's still no mention of availability and pricing for the Vapor-X or TOXIC editions.
