Notes

We've lined up four comparison ATI-based cards, two from the HD 4890 stable, a Radeon HD 4870 1,024MB, and, interestingly, the dual-GPU Radeon HD 4850 X2, which currently etails for around £240.

NVIDIA is represented by two GeForce GTX 275s, of which the Inno3D is overclocked to a reasonable degree. At the lower end of the scale is the GeForce GTX 260, so we have a reasonable number of comparison GPUs ranging from £155 through to £250.

Benchmarks were conducted at 1,680x1,050, 1,920x1,200, and 2,560x1,600, all with decent image-quality settings.
