Should the existing TS-219 Turbo seem a little underpowered and the TS-439 Pro Turbo seem a little too large, QNAP has launched something of an inbetweener in the form of its TS-239 Pro Turbo.

The NAS, pictured below, sports two hot-swappable drive bays - each supporting hard drives of up to 2TB in capacity. Powering the unit is Intel's 1.6GHz Atom processor and 1GB of DDR2 memory.

Aimed at SMB and SOHO users, it features a built-in iSCSI target service and claims a throughput of over 350Mbit/s when 20 clients are accessing the NAS.

Elsewhere, users will find two Gigabit Ethernet ports, three USB ports, two eSATA ports and QNAP's usual array of goodies - including online RAID expansion, online RAID level migration, scheduled power on/off and AES 256-bit volume-based encryption. According to QNAP, the TS-239 Pro Turbo has all the ingredients to make it "the top-class 2-bay NAS model with the best specifications and of the highest scalability, redundancy, storage capacity, and stability in the current market."

There's no mention of pricing or availability as yet, but further details are available at QNAP's official product page: http://www.qnap.com/pro_detail_feature.asp?p_id=118.
