Swiss thermal solutions provider Arctic Cooling has today announced its Accelero L2 Pro - a cross-compatible cooler designed for midrange cards from both ATI and NVIDIA.

The Accelero L2 Pro, pictured below, weighs 250g and sports a 92mm PWM fan that operates between 900 and 2,000RPM, achieving a maximum airflow of 27 CFM. Combined with a "optimised heatsink" and MX-2 thermal compound, it claims a cooling capacity of 100 Watts.

Measuring 119mm x 94mm x 51mm, it's useful, perhaps, for those seeking quieter, cooler operation of mid-range cards such as ATI's Radeon HD 4850. According to Arctic Cooling, the Accelero L2 Pro will keep noise levels down to 0.4 Sone when running at full speed thanks to a low-noise impeller and a patented fan holder.

What most users will like best, however, is the cooler's modest price tag of $16. It'll launch in June, and though there's no specific mention of UK pricing, we'd expect to see it below the £15 mark.

Interested? Here's the list of all compatible graphics cards:

ATI Radeon series: HD 4850, 4830, 4670, 4650, 4550, 3870, 3850, 3650, 3470, 3450, 2600, 2400, X1950, X1900, X1800, X1600, X1550, X1300
NVIDIA GeForce series: 9800, 9600, 9500, 9400, 8800, 8600, 8500, 7950, 7900, 7800, 7600, 7300, 6800, 6600, FX5950, FX5900, FX5800, FX5700

Yeah...I'm sure it must fit though, I'm ordering my 4770 next week, so I will be keeping an eye out for a better fan/heatsink.Quote
